Love the idea of bringing science to everyone, but I have to say I'm a little nervous about making biolabs this accessible.
It feels like we still don't have a grasp of the safety issues stemming from people making and releasing potentially dangerous biology into the world. I realize we can't keep the knowledge in a bottle, but wow, a whole new set of problems are coming.
I don't think the thing keeping people from making bioweapons in their garage is lack of access to these kinds of tools. We'll get there, though. Let's just hope our society is up to the challenge by then. Hopefully by having only a tiny number of people who would ever want to do it, which would hopefully have little to no overlap with the skills to do it.
@ted Judging by the pics provided it's an expensive biology toy kit. You won't be able to do anything potentially harmful with this.
