TIL: ZFS mounts have a ".zfs" directory at their root that includes all the snapshots. It doesn't show up with a "ls -a" but you can navigate into it.

@ted you can make it visible, the ZFS property is called "snapdir"

@feld is there a reason that I'd want it to be visible? It seems to work (at least for what I need) the way it is.

@ted only if you want to expose it for regular users to find backup snapshots of their files. Otherwise it's annoying, gets found by backup tools, etc.

@feld that would be the *most amazing* backup.

@ted oh yeah, your backup suddenly gets really big and then you discover it grabbed snapshot data too...
