Completely feel this when eating at Eastern food restaurants. Usually I go with "I'd like white people spicy," which gets a laugh and close to what I want.
It's really a problem. The difference between "white people spicy" and real spicy is too damn big. White people spicy is much too tame for me, but I can't handle actually spicy.
@maltimore yeah, I like a little spicier than I usually get it, but would prefer that to having it be painful.
