Howdy Mastodon!

Engineer working for Previously I worked on Ubuntu Phone and doing multimedia/TV, almost all consumer electronics.

An Open Source advocate and Ubuntu member. Was a co-founder for Inkscape and now serve on its board.

I think that one mistake I made with my Twitter account was making it all technical, expect this to have more politics and other stuff.

@ted nice to meet you. I'm an Ubuntu fan myself. I never had the phone but there were plenty of times I tried to get it running on other, nonsupported devices. Alas, never successfully...

@TechieInAK ah, yeah, HW devices are hard and HW manufacturers don't help. That was one of the downfalls of the phone, not enough support from SoC vendors.

@ted Yeah, I figured as much. It's too bad but that's the way of the hardware world, I suppose.

@ted Nice to see you here! Welcome, and I hope you like this place :)

@ted One big reason why people like it here so much, is because there are less politics than on Twitter. 🙄

@hackerbeach @ted - Yeah, you can absolutely do politics, but we recommend you put it behind a Content Warning (CW). Treat anything rage inducing as NSFW or NSFL.

@ted Welcome to #Mastodon Ted.
Don't be afraid to be technical here, probably it's even more appreciated here than on Twatter ;-)

@ted How does/can Axiom serve the open source community?

@ted OK, looking forward to updates on this. Thanks.

@ted Congrats for been here. Can you say me a movile model or more that runs ubuntu movile well? Be technical too. ;-) Thanks!

@aitoribanez for a laptop the best Ubuntu laptop I've owned is a Dell XPS13. Great hardware.

For a phone, there isn't one supported by Ubuntu today. The @Ubports folks might have a suggestion on which works best for them. I'm guessing they'll suggest a @Fairphone .

@ted thanks! I ask about moviles with software libre inside.
Would be great if @Ubports give their opinion! :-)

@ted Don't worry. I haven't find any drawbacks from being too technical.
